Return to China:

An Entrepreneur's Reflections on Import-Export and the Canton Fair

As I prepare to return to the fascinating world of international business after a period of hiatus, I want to share with you my personal reflections.

Probably, like you, in 2019 I was forced to take a break from my frequent trips to China, a country that I have grown to love and get to know better and better over the years. I still remember when I started as a simple "bag carrier", but with passion and dedication I managed to gain invaluable knowledge in the import-export sector, specializing in the gift sector. .

My journey began with my father, a businessman of a certain age who didn't get along well with technology. I had to prepare every document for him so that it was easy to consult. That rigor represented valuable, if sometimes challenging, training. But it was thanks to this discipline that I learned to select products wisely and to develop an organizational strategy that led to excellent results.

During trade fairs or factory visits, my evening before bed became a sort of ritualistic: I sorted all the photographs, updated the contacts and organized the information in a digital file. This practice not only improved my efficiency but also helped build solid know-how. The expertise I gained has allowed me to serve multiple companies, an opportunity I have enthusiastically embraced.

Now, as I prepare for my return to China, I feel an even greater responsibility on my shoulders. I know my clients trust me and pay me to do what I do best. I understand that every decision I make impacts their business and their future. And it is precisely this awareness that pushes me to give my best every day, to constantly look for quality products and to ensure that every aspect of import-export is impeccable.

I also want to share some useful resources with you, dear entrepreneur, who are considering working with an importing partner. One of the most valuable resources for exploring the Chinese market is the Canton Fair.

The Canton Fair is one of the largest and most important trade fairs in the world, held in Guangzhou, China twice a year. It offers a wide range of products and services from thousands of Chinese and international exhibitors. Participating in this fair allows you to come into direct contact with Chinese suppliers, examine their products and negotiate advantageous commercial agreements. If you would like to get in touch with me, I will be leaving in mid-October and I still have 3 vacancies as companies to follow.
